NAD+ Therapy

Why NAD+ is Important

NAD+(nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a co-enzyme naturally found in all living cells (a co-enzyme essentially is a “helper molecule” that attaches to other enzymes to stimulate molecular reactions). Its main function is to protect DNA integrity and reverse cellular damage.

There is growing evidence that NAD+ can:

  • » improve function of sirtuins, crucial proteins that protect and maintain telomere length
  • » detect and repair DNA damage
  • » improve immune response due to stress or inflammation
  • » improve and protect neuron (brain cell) function and integrity
  • NAD+production naturally declines as we age. Many researchers consider NAD+ to be a powerful “anti-aging” protein, which can help improve:
  • » energy production   » athletic performance
  • » brain function  » mental clarity
  • » immune system response  » cell regeneration

This research article (Trends in Cellular Biology 2014 Aug;24(8):464-71) explains the benefits of NAD+ --

"NAD(+) levels decline during the aging process and may be an Achilles' heel, causing defects in nuclear  and mitochondrial functions and resulting in many age-associated pathologies. Restoring NAD(+) by supplementing NAD(+) can dramatically ameliorate these age-associated functional defects, counteracting many diseases of aging, including neurodegenerative diseases.”

NAD+infusion therapy has been used for over 50 years and is considered very safe when administered by experienced staff.

While there is no science to prove NAD+ therapy can prevent aging, yet research has shown that NAD+ therapy may help slow and repair the aging process.
